Welcome to the Home Page of Horizon Institute of Ashland, Oregon, a non-profit educational organization that seeks to bridge the perceived gap between science and spirituality. Horizon Institute is committed to the process of scientific and spiritual co-exploration. It is our goal to bring together members of our community, other organizations, and seminal thinkers of our time to dialogue in a spirit of collaboration. We acknowledge that each one of us is reaching for that unreachable, distant horizon where the heavens and the Earth appear to meet, and our objective is more the "reach" than the "arrival." Our method is one of continual questioning, listening, integrating and discovery. We trust that our efforts will contribute to a more far-reaching understanding of what it means to be a human being in our constantly changing world.
Explore our site to learn about us and our activities, workshops, symposia and guest speakers. The site also includes a Calendar of Events. We publish a newsletter, and you may wish to add your name to our mailing list to receive it. Or you may join Horizon Institute. While most of our events, including our Brown Bag Lecture Series, are free, we are an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit educational and cultural organization, and as such we do welcome tax deductible donations. From time to time, we publish Book Reviews and other commentaries, which you can read online. And because a key part of our mission is to encourage individual dialogue and participation as we explore science and spirituality, we invite your contribution to this dialogue. You may have a book review or commentary you would like us to publish on this site. Or you might care to offer us feedback. To do either, simply email us. Finally, we recognize the Internet for the powerful communication and networking tool that it is, and we are happy to exchange site links with relevant organizations and individuals.
